As a parent you can never say that you have a favorite child. That being said, this is Mike's time. This is the time, the last month of high school, that revolves around any high school senior. Sean and Sam went through it, Jack has his to come. That's way now is Michael's time. Plans are in motion for Michael's college career. So last week he went to Chicago to see the school. Sean has two team mates from Colgate, Nate and Jonny B, that are in Chicago. Although both were open to Mike staying with them he opted to stay with Jon. There were many concerns with Mike's choice of schools, the distance being the biggest. This trip was my way of saying, "see, it's not that far, just a short flight". Mike left Albany on Thursday afternoon. By Friday afternoon he called to say he wasn't coming back. When I picked him up at the airport on Saturday he was sporting a Cubs hat. Now, he can't wait for school to start. This weekend was prom, or, how to spend more money on one night then anyone else in your community. A group of kids all went to one girls home for pre prom activities. This includes the parents all showing up for photos. I have noticed a trend in the past few years that I really like. Kids go to the prom with or without dates. So here we are at the house taking pictures when the front door flies open and in walks ( really it was more then walks, a kind of storms in, but not an angry storms in. The thought in my mind at the time was a old movie entrance or at least a Carol Burnett as Scarlet O'Hara entrance) a girl in a brown hoop skirt dress with an entourage. Screams (yes, really screams) of delight as the girls see each others dresses. Pose, pose, pose. As the other hatch lings gather around her. I noticed that when ever she posed for a photo she was in the center, and with that hoop skirt, it kept people from crowding her. On Sunday afternoon when everything was over and Mike was telling us all about the night, I asked who her date was. Mike said she went alone and all I could think was thank God because she is the definition of "high maintenance". It would not be fair to unleash that on an unsuspecting high school boy.

Michael also starts rehearsal this week for a production of The Graduate. The performances are set for the last two weekends in June at the Arts Center in Saratoga. Mike is playing the part of Ben so he gets to say, "Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me". More information as I get it

I didn't go to the Celebration of Celts this weekend. Oh I thought about it, a lot. I worked on Saturday but had nothing to do on Sunday so why not? Why not drive an hour to maybe find out who BQ is? That was the mind set Sunday morning as my mind asked questions over and over. What if she is the one? What if it's really Murphy? What if she likes you? What if she is someone you don't like? What if? what if? What if? Welcome to the mind of a single man.

I have enjoyed the comment section of the last two posts. My only problem is that, here I am exposed, and the commenter's choose to remain anonymous. There in lies the dilemma, are you real or just someone having fun? I like a joke as much as the next guy but to make a person drive that far is a little over the line. Now, if the person or persons, want to revel themselves we can all have a good laugh. Better yet, if they turn out to be real I could have a date. It's now up to you. BQ, who are you? Bimbo and Naughty Liberian (not my name for you) revel yourselves.
