I know it's been a while since I last posted but that was intentional. I wanted everyone to read about New Orleans. If you haven't, then please read the previous post after you've finished this one.
September is going to be a very busy month. It is so chock full that Labor day is on the first. So, here are the high lights of September.

Labor Day weekend, the unofficial end of summer, is the Scottish Games at the Altamont Fair grounds. The games have been a end of summer event for as long as I can remember. A great day, or two if you are adventurous, of music and events. A pipe competition, live bands, dancers and cabor tossing, are only a few of the things to do and see at the games. Tickets are $20 on Saturday and $15 for Sunday, if you go to Price chopper you may still get pre sale tickets for a cheaper price. By the way if you don't know what a cabor is, think telephone pole.

September 6th is the wedding of Sean and Sara. The Curran clan will be heading to the Jersey shore for the nuptials. A full weekend of activities will be held and I'll be in a tux. All the kids are part of the wedding party so I'm sure their will be lots of photos and stories after.

September 13th, the Donnybrook Open Golf Tournament. The Saratoga AOH will be sponsoring a golf outing on Saturday September 13, there are still a few openings for you and your foursome. all the information can be found at www.saratogaaoh.com .
If you can't make the golf outing and happen to be in Johnstown. The 250th anniversary of Johnstown has been a year long event. On September 13 they will be having a parade to celebrate. The Division will be sending a small contingent (only small because so many brothers are going to be busy helping out at the golf) to march. So come out and see a great parade and any member that would like to join us just let me know.

September 19 and 20 are the dates for Irish 2000 at the Altamont Fair grounds. This day and a half music and arts festival has become a must do event for the entire region. Music, music and more music is the center of the festival. check out the web site at www.irish2000fest.com and see if you can figure out a way to see all of your favorite celtic music bands.
If you can't make it to Irish 2000 the West Side of Saratoga, Old Dublin, will be having a festival celebrating the rich history of Saratoga.

September 27. I don't know about you but I need one weekend to relax and recoup.

Don't forget the Division meeting on September 4 and for those of you how are sending off your children to school for the first time, congratulations and enjoy the quiet till the afternoon bus brings them home again.
