Do you remember the 21st night of september?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in september
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day

Okay, so it's been a while since I posted. There are a couple of reasons for that, one i wanted to keep the last post up so everyone could see it and I kept adding photos to the album as I was getting them. Two, it has been a crazy few weeks. In the sports world it is playoff baseball and the Yankees are not in it. I know it's hard to remember a year when the Yankees were not in the playoffs, we Yankee fans have been spoiled. Speaking of spoiled fans, any so called Red Sox fan who left Fenway when the score was 7-0 the other night should never be let back in again. Talk about crazy baseball, the World Series starts Wednesday and the American League team is the Tampa Bay Rays. I'll let that sink in a bit. Changing the name from Devilrays to Rays has lifted them from proverbial doormats of the east to the World Series. All you born again bible thumpers rejoice. The National League representative is the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phil's are making their second year in a row in the playoffs after the Mets made their second year in a row choke at the end. Go Rays.
The craziness continues in football. The Giants, last years underdog Super Bowl Champions, started the season as if they really were the reigning champs. A quick 4-0 start has led to the top spot in the best conference in the NFL. The Giants are sitting alone in that spot at 5-1 while the Redskins are 5-2 and the Cowboys are 4-3.
Getting away from sports the craziness continues. The election. Most elections don't grab my attention like this one has. Let's start on the local level. In New Yorks 20th congressional district Sandy Treadwell is trying to unseat Kristen Gillibrand. Ms Gillibrand is finishing her first term after toppling John Sweeney two years ago. Although campaigns are suppose to be about policy and what not, Treadwell has become the king of the mudslingers. In his ads he shows the worst photos of Ms Gillibrand. Now her ads are getting just as bad but only to rebuke what Treadwell has said....and a couple of jabs for herself. I want to vote for the person that found the photos. I don't know of any woman who would allow that many bad photos of her to exist. The State Senate and Assembly races are just as bad. On the National Level we have McCain. Sen. John McCain, war hero, distinguished member of the Senate. Choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate. Who? Sarah Palin, who in this race is as funny as Michael Palin. As the Governor of Alaska, she claims to be able to see both Canada and Russia from her house. This Tina Fey look alike, a self proclaimed, "hockey mom" is McCain's choice for Vice President? Now I know that the Vice President doesn't do much but sit and wait for the President to die and take over but in this case McCain is 72 years old and the wait may not be that long. In the latest debate with Obama, McCain looked like the old guy on your street when you were a kid. I thought at one point he was going to yell at Obama to get off his lawn.
I guess you can tell who I am voting for. One thing about Obama, he's black, in case you didn't notice. Is it time for a black president? I think the answer is, it's time to stop looking at people and putting them in categories. I don't need anyone to tell me Obama is black, I can see that. I will vote for a man or woman not because of their color of their skin but on the content of their character. I'm sure the Reverend King would not mind that I paraphrased his speech. A speech that he delivered in 1963, Barack Obama was two years old, John McCain was 27. I told you he was old.
